Short answer: In this guide, a net-30 account means you buy something and pay the bill within 30 days.

The parts
There are three parts to know.
- The vendor. This is the company that sells to your business.
- The invoice. This is the bill the vendor sends you.
- The due date. With net-30 terms, the due date is 30 days after the invoice date.
Here is a small picture. A shop sends your business a bill on the 1st of the month. With net-30 terms, the bill is due 30 days later.
"Net-30 terms" are the words we use on this site. They always mean the same thing here: pay the invoice within 30 days.
Why a vendor might offer it
We do not have a primary source on why vendors offer net-30 terms, so this guide does not say. A vendor's own terms page is the best place to read their reasons. Each vendor writes its own terms, so read them before you buy.
What reporting means
A payment can be written down in a record. Factiiv says, "Establish and report the credibility of your business with every transaction." Factiiv also says, "Most business activities are not captured by traditional credit bureaus and do not end up on credit reports."
So reporting means a payment is passed to a company that keeps records. It is a step, not a result. This page makes no promise about what any lender or vendor will do with a record. Read how trade payments are reported and what is Factiiv.
How the Red Spectrum membership works
Red Spectrum is a membership for small business owners in the United States.
- A member pays a signup fee and a monthly fee.
- The member gets a net-30 vendor account.
- The member spends it on real business services from our catalog. These include local business listings, AI email flows, a business phone line, SEO and content, press releases and websites.
- Every membership payment and every catalog repayment is reported to Factiiv.
We report to Factiiv. We do not report anywhere else. The membership page has the details and the prices.
No guarantee of funding, loan approval or credit scores. Payment activity is reported to Factiiv.
Good habits with any net-30 bill
Write the due date down when the invoice comes. Keep each invoice in one folder. Pay by the due date. Ask the vendor if a line on the bill is not clear. These are habits, not promises of any result.
